If you are using windows - Open File Explorer (Win Key + E) In the left hand pain select: This PC. In the right pain, right click on the drive which is your scratch disk. (Actually any drive would do at this point) From the drop down menu, click on Properties (normally the bottom menu item). On the resulting dialogue, click on the "Tools" tab.

First- external drives need to be formatted as Mac OS - Journaled. If they are formatted Ex-Fat (Windows) then they wont work. Second - If you want to try and use them for scratch disks, your drives need to be SSD and thunderbolt 4 or USB-C connected. If they are older and using USB-A connections they wont work. nDI3.
