Short answer, yes, Origins is absolutely worth playing. If you like ancient Egypt and Egyptian lore Origins is great to play. Just running around, scaling pyramids, visiting cities. The story is ok. Starts out weirdly paced but once you past the first bit it becomes quiet good with just the ending suffering some imo.

Origins has many memorable moments and characters than Odyssey. Also the fact that proper cutscenes are rare in Odyssey just rubs me the wrong way. I can care less about making decisions in an Assassins creed game, especially if it dumbs down the character animations and character interactions. AC Origins is still a 9/10 to me, and the world and story is incredible, the map is actually much bigger and the cities are more impressive (but it's Assassin's Creed so that's not surprising). Even the small details they've put in still surprise me 40 hours in. Definitely worth a buy imo, it's impressive to see what an extra year can do.
